What is Document Attestation?
Document attestation is the process of verifying that a document is genuine so it can be legally accepted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It confirms that the signature and seal on your document are authentic and recognized by UAE authorities.
This is a mandatory requirement if you are planning to work, study, start a business, or relocate to the UAE.
What Documents Can Be Attested?
The UAE Embassy in Kenya accepts most personal and commercial documents, including:

Note: Documents must first be authenticated by the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Step-by-Step Attestation Process (Kenya → UAE)
Step 1: Local Authentication (Kenya)
Your document is first certified by the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs (Kenya).
Step 2: UAE Embassy Attestation (Nairobi)
The UAE Embassy verifies the document for use in the UAE.
Step 3: UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)
Final verification is done by MOFA, making the document officially valid in the UAE.
Step 4: Digital Application & Processing
Apply online via MOFA portal
Pay fees
Courier picks your documents
Receive attested documents (usually within a few days)
